Melanie & Subra's Wedding

My first all fondant decorated wedding cake. The cakes are all fruit cakes that was baked by the family of the bride and given to me to be decorated. Melanie did show me a with the geometric shapes. Unfortunately since the cake was a little too thin, I improvised on the design and raised the top tier to give the cake some height.
Working to get the burgundy colour was a challenge, but in the end I managed to get the colour to match the flowers which were already purchased.

Simple wedding cake

Deciding on a wedding cake is never an easy task, more so when there are so many beautiful designs to choose from. As much as I sometimes love the elaborate details, it is often the simplest ones that look better. As they say, less is more.
This was a chocolate cake. Each stack is 2 cakes high sandwiched in between with chocolate ganache. Covered with fondant and dotted with RI.

Wedding Cake

When my friend told me she was getting married, I offered to make her wedding cake. After going through some designs, this is her selection. The original cake was round, but she wanted it square. This was a chocolate cake, made from gluten free flour as her husband (then to be), is gluten intolerant.
The cake is iced with royal icing, and the dots in dark and light pink, red and orange are cut out from fondant.
