Simple butter cupcakes with orange flavoured butter cream, topped with RI hand made forget me nots. Chocolate cupcakes topped with chocolate ganache and pipped with pink and yellow rossettes.
My friend Jane (in the US at the mo.) recommended me to her cousin Michelle who was looking for someone to bake a cake for 2 of her friends who were having a joint b'day celebration. Michelle who is in China at the moment could only discuss the details via email and she finally decided on chocolate cupcakes with flowers and the wordings. The colour and type of flowers were up to me. As Michelle was so far away, I thought hmmmm...'forget me not" would be quite appropriate for the toppers. So spent a few hours piping these flowers and getting them to harden before placing them on the chocolate ganache topped cupcakes.
It was a surprise indeed for Chole and JQ who only saw the cakes when they were delivered to them.
It's nice for a change to see a guy express his love to his girl and what more with something different other than flowers. I thought this idea was so cute...and not to mention romantic. So Ruben I hope Goay Imm loved the cupcakes and the love showed through them.
Chocolate cupcakes with chocolate gananche topping for a chocolate lover...and lovee (if there is such a word).
These were to die for. Chocolate cupcakes, with chocolate ganache. Ohhh...the kids of the mother I made it for, loved it. But I think chocolate always brings out the kid in everyone.
Cupcakes seem to be the fashion these days and though its cute and easily handled, it often takes time to decorate each cupcake.I found working with butter cream with direct designs onto the cupcake is the fastest...and not to mention the cheapest. Usually prefer plain butter cupcakes, but I did a batch of 100 chocolate cupcakes a few weeks ago.
Welcome to my blog. It's filled with pics of all the cakes I have baked and decorated. Take your time to view and I hope it tempts you enough to want to have one yourself. Thanks for dropping by and do leave your comments.
Hi my name is Beatrice. Have always loved baking and have been baking since I was a kid. It was only years later that I managed to find somewhere to learn more about cake decorating and the interest kept growing. Pursued my passion in Melbourne and I am now a qualified pastry chef.
