Spiderman 4 - now showing

Made this spiderman figurine from fondant. Though he stood ok on the cake...he didnt really stay in one piece for long. Got to still work on getting the whole figurine to stand and carry its weight.

10 Pretty Maids

Made this using cupcakes turned over, and fondant skirt, body and hair. It was an idea from one of Debbie Brown's book, but I decided to give each girl her own hair do.

I tried googling for cut up cakes to make a dog but didnt really find one. So captured these steps for everyone's viewing.

First bake a round cake.

Cut up the cake as follows

b) the head portion should be wider than the thickness of the cake
c) one small portion for the nose (which could be reshaped accordingly later

How the pieces all fit together.

Ice the pieces to each other and to the board.

Use a toothpick to attach the tail.

Using the grass tip #233 for the fur effect.

Front view. Nose is shaped accordingly.

Extra pieces used for the ears.

The ears could be bigger or smaller and if it could be held in place with toothpicks.

Rosettes used for the design on the ears.

Let your imagination take flight.

Adult Themed Cake

Made this butter cake and carved it to look like boobs for a friend's 30th birthday. She was of course shocked,....but happy with the overall shape. I guess it reminded her of her own. Hahahah.

Fondant Figurines

Working with fondant is not easy esp here in Malaysia where the air is often humid and one needs to add lots of gumtax in order to get the figures to harden faster. I worked on these figurines and finally got them to stand up and dry in time to give it to a friend for her birthday.
